SLA Toronto is pleased to continue our Dine-Around series! Broaden both your culinary and your intellectual horizons by joining hosts from SLA Toronto for a meal and a conversation at a Toronto-area restaurant on Monday, October 4th, 2010:
Host: Elysia Guzik
Topic: Library as place versus Library as state of mind
Join Elysia as she explores the following issues:
- What’s more important to users of special libraries and information centres – the reference, research and knowledge management/organization services we provide or the physical space we create and maintain?
- What are the critical elements to making our users feel welcome?
- What sort of environment most effectively supports learning and knowledge sharing?
- Is the idea of “library as place” even relevant in a world that’s become so reliant on interacting through collaborative intranets and social networking sites?
